Slay the Day Competition Rules & Terms
At Slay the Day, our aim is to create a fun, fair and inclusive competition where every performer has the opportunity to shine. By entering, you agree to the following rules and terms.
Competition Rules
- The competition is open to participants of all ages, abilities and genders.
- Participants can enter as many dances in a single category if they choose to.
- Entries are welcome from participants across the United Kingdom and Ireland.
- Age groups will be determined by the participant’s age on the competition closing date.
- Where necessary, we reserve the right to split categories into ability levels to ensure fair judging.
- All entries must be submitted before the published closing date. Unfortunately, late entries cannot be accepted.
- Each entry must clearly include the participant’s full name, age group and competition category.
- Entry fees must be paid in full before the closing date. Entries cannot be judged unless both payment and the video submission have been received by the deadline.
- If payment is not received by the closing date, your entry will not be accepted.
- If payment has been received but no video is submitted by the deadline, your entry will be forfeited and no refund will be issued.
- Videos may be recorded in any suitable location; however, it is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure the environment is safe.
- Please ensure the performer is visible from head to toe throughout the routine wherever possible.
- Performances are judged on technique, performance and execution only. Costumes and recording locations do not influence scores. We do, however, present Best Costume in Style Awards, which are judged separately and do not affect competition results.
- The Judges’ decision is final and cannot be appealed.
- Results will be announced via email and our official social media channels.
- Any participant found providing false or misleading information, including age, ability or experience, will be disqualified without refund.
- We have a zero-tolerance policy towards bullying, abusive behaviour, discrimination, harassment or dishonesty. Any inappropriate behaviour directed towards Slay the Day staff, judges or fellow competitors may result in immediate disqualification, permanent exclusion from future Slay the Day events and no refund being issued.
- School or club entries must be submitted by one nominated organiser only. Individual parent submissions for the same school entry will not be accepted. All awards and prizes for group entries will be sent to a single address.
- All competition enquiries must be sent via email to [email address]. We are unable to deal with competition enquiries through social media or personal phone numbers.
- By submitting an entry, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to abide by these Competition Rules and Terms.
